One of the most iconic and photographed dunes, is the spectacular Dune 45, named because it lies 45 kilometers past Sesriem, the gateway to the dunes and Sossuslvlei itself. The towering red sand dunes in Sossuslvlei are some of the highest in the world, reaching almost 400 meters. It provides photographic enthusiasts with wonderful images in the beautiful morning and evening light.
